23-24 of September I had the honor to be representative of Ukraine on Global International Teacher's Meeting in Dhaka. The topic of international meeting was "Shaping our future science education using STEM".
A two-day long Global Teachers’ Meet -2018 styled Shaping our Future Science Education Using STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Mathematics) began on Sunday at Bangladesh Cadet College Complex in Dhaka Cantonment.
Global Educators Initiative for Sustainable Transformation (GEIST) International Foundation, Bangladesh and Bangladesh Cadet Colleges jointly organised the summit.
Academics, researchers, educators, NCTB officials, Bangladesh Examination Development Unit (BEDU) officials and learners from national and foreign countries like India, Nepal, Ukraine, USA, Vietnam and Bangladesh joined the summit. Around 200 delegates including 7 internationals attended the convention.
Teachers and students from some selected 25 schools including 12 Cadet Colleges across the country joined the program.
Speakers stressed for creating massive awareness among the people of the globe to build the beautiful earth more beautiful, safe and habitable for the future generation through creative science.
They emphasised on science based education and urged the educators and learners to take the lead of the campaign as they could make significant change in this regard.
Some key thoughts which are presented by text and pictures, in my opinion, will be relevant for ukrainian teachers.
1) New additional vision of STEM=Student+Teacher+Educators+Mentors. Partnership is very important.
2) We working together to make change the world. We need focuses in educational resourses.
3) We need for training in STEAM. Together we shape the future!
4) Science helps us to solve two problems: war and pain. Problem solving competence give us a future.
5) STEM is about asking problem and solving this problem.
So if you are an educator or parrent, who want to change our education or a proactive teacher - let's make a STEAM-team! Join the group, there I'll publish interesting international, all-ukrainian and regional event about innovative education.
The guest of honour, Kelly Ryan said, youth engagement is very important for any development He made the observation to build leadership and to create a sense of internationalism among the learners to cope with present global context.
Developing communication and collaboration with international partner schools is also important to ensure STEM education.
